TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
1. GENERAL – The following terms and conditions apply to all quotations and sales except where modified in writing. The placing of an order with us by the customer shall be deemed to be an acceptance of these terms and conditions.
2. PERIOD OF TENDER – This quotation is subject to acceptance within the period of 90 days from the date of the quotation.
3. PRICE FLUCTUATION – Cinder & Smoke shall be entitled to make reasonable variations in the price if the cost of labour, goods or materials on which this quotation is based on change due to unseen work involved in the installation. This can include a new lintel or chimney pot needed, flue blockages or tight bends that require action by opening up the flue in other places, gas supply needing to be capped or a gas liner needing removal, etc.
4. EXCLUSION – Unless specifically stated our quotation does not include costs of fireboarding, rendering, plastering, making good decorations, walls, work surfaces or any other items that have to be cut or moved to execute the installation, floors or other parts of the premises, nor for the supply and erection of scaffolding, (even if we have quoted to work off ladders but find on starting that it is impossible due to conditions not foreseen from the ground).
5. DIRT – Demolitions, chimney sweeping and liner installation can be very dusty and sooty. Whilst every care is taken to ensure there is no damage (we cover everything with plastic sheeting), clients are advised to remove rugs, cushions, furniture, electrical equipment, books, objects from walls etc. Even though everything is covered and we clean and hoover before we go, there is likely to still be a lot of dust in the air that hasn’t settled when we leave the property. No responsibility can be accepted by Cinder & Smoke for carpet, wall, curtain or furniture cleaning.
6. TERMS AND PAYMENTS – A deposit is required before work commences made payable to Cinder & Smoke, payment of the remaining balance is to be made to Cinder & Smoke on completion as specified in our invoice and no later than 7 days from date of completion. All deposits are deemed non returnable. If the value of the works exceed £3000 we reserve the right to request payment during the progress of the works equal to the value of materials on site and the labour costs incurred and the customer hereby agrees to make such a payment within 7 days of application by Cinder & Smoke. If such payment is not made we reserve the right to suspend or abandon the work and remove unfixed materials, tools and other equipment on site.
7. GUARANTEES – All work and materials supplied by Cinder & Smoke are guaranteed for one year from the date of completion, provided they are used in accordance with the instructions given by Cinder & Smoke or the parts supplied. Wood burners and chimney liners come with their own manufacturers warranties of between 3 & 20 years.
8. OWNERSHIP – All items and parts remain the property of Cinder & Smoke unless and until the account is settled in full.
9. DATES – Delivery and work commencement dates are given in good faith but Cinder & Smoke shall not be responsible for any delay in executing the works from causes beyond our control including rain, strong winds (that prevent executing roof work safely), accident and sickness, child care commitments, materials shortages, pandemics, etc.
10. AMENDMENTS – If a client amends an order, Cinder & Smoke reserve the right to make charges to cover the cost incurred at the date of amendment, these changes will be discussed in full at the time of amendment.
11. MANUAL ALTERATIONS – No manual alterations to these terms and conditions will be accepted unless countersigned by a recognised Cinder & Smoke signatory.
